Northern Youth is seeking an energetic, confident community leader to fill the position of Executive Director.
Duties:
This position requires exceptional organizational leadership, management and accountability experience. Successful experience fundraising, managing financial expenditures, and financial reporting is expected as is managing organizational administrative duties. Ability to multi task and maintain organized records is imperative. Must be able to work under pressure, and maintain positive social relations. Must be able to build strong working relationships with staff, campers, parents, funders and other stakeholders. Strong social media, promotional and public relations skills required. Experience delivering or coordinating on-the-land camp programs for youth is required. Must be able to envision, develop, deliver and manage programming for youth, following through on every detail to its completion.
Qualifications:
– Experience managing non profit organization – A variety of on-the-land and camp experience (hiking, canoeing, kayaking, boating, hunting, trapping, harvesting, organized camps and/or back country camping). – Experience developing or implementing wilderness safety protocols – Experience hiring, training, directly supervising and/or managing staff – Experience developing budgets, fundraising, managing financial expenditures, and/or financial reporting – Superior ability to lead people, staff teams, and self – Superior ability to secure necessary resources through in-kind partnerships and volunteers – Superior interpersonal communication skills: written and oral – Media communications training, skills and experience – Experience as a public relations spokesperson – Comfortable with all Microsoft applications, updating website content and social media sites – Comfortable learning new computer software Criminal records check is required. Northern Youth will explore flexible work hours and job shares.
